English Poetry

We the uncertain youth; fearless and ever questioning as time speeds past us, lost souls floating freely in the wind. Worrying about the future, longing for the past but living in the present. Stop, reflect. Why are we so desperate to know the future when we can’t let go of the past. I is a never ending competition plagued by mirages of happiness and that elusive oasis.

Response: Are you physical or sedentary?

In this new age of technology human interaction has greatly diminished. It has also changed people approach to other humans. The internet has everything you could possibly think of only a few clicks away. I would like to think I am a physical person, I play lots of sports and consider myself quite active but, I think we have all gotten a lot more sedentary then we think. As the author points out North American culture has taught that everything is dangerous and even when we greet each other it is not as casual as other cultures and countries. Especially in big cities having a conversation through social media more desirable than face to face conversations in many cases. The author touches upon how sedentary lifestyles are considered quite normal. It shows in schools, physical education courses are not nearly as popular as computer courses and everything seems to be more convenient and easy.http://images.fanpop.com/images/image_uploads/Calvin---Hobbes--TV--Strip-calvin--26-hobbes-152197_700_290.gif
